These are my first try at publishing the stuff from my @uglybagofmostlywater account. They are pretty different thematically and in terms of the approach to "mass" production, but the original pages were all made by doing manual collages of cvs prints of the photos from the insta and scanned at the library.
Let me know if you want one! I'd love an excuse to print more.
This zine has photos of buses/trains/etc from my smartphone and film SLR. It was put together with 8.5/11" paper out of a home printer and a centerfold stapler thanks to my very generous friend. My favorite part is the view of the yellow line train crossing the Potomac from the washington monument next to the view of the washington monument from the yellow line train as it crosses that river. Ever since my park ranger friend let me up into that monument it feels like a big eye of sauron type of spy tower spying on me...
I'm more proud of the collage work and quality of this one, so on the internet you only get to see the center spread. This zine was made by paying The Printer to print the full zine laid out on one double sided tabloid sheet of paper, cutting out each zine-sheet from the tabloid sheet, and stitching each zine together. Labor intensive!
The smeared effect to the right of the photo was made by taking scraps of glossy photos (I had many from making the prior zine), spraying Goof Off on them to dissolve the pigment, and pressing them onto newsprint to transfer the ink. My feeling of freedom to fuck with photo media came from an amazing workshop put on by Mt. Plantry where we made chemograms, made animations by drawing on super 8 reel leaders, and made pinhole cameras. SO FUN
